Covid-19 Information

COVID-19 and visiting The Hertford Osteopath

The clinic is now open again after the closure due to Covid-19 but naturally things will be different for a while so if you can spare a moment please read this page. On booking your appointment, full details of all precautions as well as a screening information will be emailed to you.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of how the Covid-19 precautions may affect your experience as a patient, please do not hesitate to call me on 01992 304913 or email hertfordosteopath@gmail.com.

If you are feeling unwell, please reschedule your appointment or delay booking a new appointment and stay at home at this time. If you have a fever, cough, disturbed sense of smell or taste, and/or breathing difficulties please contact NHS111 by phone and self isolate. We look forward to seeing you when you’re better 🙂

Changes within the clinic:

Hygiene

Hygiene has always been important but we have taken extra measures around the clinic. As you walk in to the clinic premises there will be a station where you will be asked to apply hand sanitising gel before entering the closed clinic.

We have increased our regular sanitising of all frequently touched areas throughout the day as an additional precaution. These include the doorbell, door handles, equipment, light switches and flat surfaces.

In addition to the regular cleaning of our treatment couches we have also removed the couch covers as an extra precaution. Disposable paper couch covers will continue to be used and disposed of between patients.

Patient appointments are now staggered to avoid overlap.

Scheduling an appointment

You can now schedule an appointment by calling 01992 304913 or emailing hertfordosteopath@gmail.com

Personal Protective Equipment

We are following the guidelines set out by government guidelines as well as the General Osteopathic Council and The Institute of Osteopathy.

– As your osteopath, I will wear a mask and ask all patients to do the same throughout the session, due to the close proximity of patients and practitioners.

– I will also use disposable gloves and apron throughout the treatment.

Payments

Please use contactless payment or bank transfer where possible.

New patients

If you are new to the practice, I may conduct the pre-physical examination phase of the initial consultation by telephone, in order to limit face-to-face contact time to 30 minutes. This will allow the remote recording of symptoms, medical history etc.
